BCSB offers sailing lessons for adults, and youth (ages 8 & up). *Students must be able to swim. Lessons are set up in 2 hour blocks, and can be purchased individually or in a package of 5 lessons. Our sailing lessons are designed to cater to the students experience, skill level, and goals. J22 Sailing Lessons

Are you looking to learn to sail on a 22-foot J boat as an adult or child? The J22 is a perfect intro to bigger boats, stable for persons with physical limitations, and a fantastic boat to learn the basics of sailing or racing in.

  • POINT OF SAIL

    Learn the points of sail, proper sail trim, and other fundamentals to help you reach your destination.

  • RIGGING & DERIGGING

    Get assistance rigging and learn sail terminology, how lines and sheets operate, and more.

  • PARTS OF THE BOAT

    Start to enhance your sailing vocabulary so you can hang with the sailing crowd!

  • SAIL TRIMMING

    On the water and on-land drills to understand basic sail trimming concepts.

Beaufort Community Sailing and Boating reserves the right to cancel any program (at no charge to the guest) for weather, safety, or other concerns that may affect trip quality and guest satisfaction.​

  • What do I bring? Checklist:

    Please wear closed toed shoes, clothes you can move around in, and bring a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen.

    We have life jackets available on board.

    Weather and Wind Information:

    Please pack accordingly for the weather.

    We will send a weather update 24 hours prior to your appointment.
