Level 3 Advanced Dinghy Sailing


In Level 3 Advanced Dinghy Sailing the students will expand their sailing knowledge and practice in both single and double handed (as in two person, a skipper and crew) dinghies. The goal of Level 3 Advanced Dinghy Sailing is to teach the skills necessary to sail successfully in a single and double handed dinghy around a fixed course as the skipper and the crew. Successful completion of Level 1 Introduction to Sailing and Level 2 Dinghy Sailing are required. The class size is limited to 8 students. Mastery of the curriculum of Level 3 Advanced Dinghy Sailing usually requires two sessions. A session lasts 2 weeks.

Prerequisites for all Learn to Sail Program Levels:

  • Age – 8+
  • Weight – 40 lbs +
  • Skills – Must pass swim test

Which Class is right for my child?

Sign your child up for Level 3 Advanced Dinghy Sailing, if:

  • Your child is comfortable skippering their own boat and can easily leave and return to the beach
  • Your child went through Level 2 Dinghy Sailing last summer and participated in our Fall/Winter program or other sailing practices
  • Your child went through Level 3 Double Handed Sailing last summer
  • Your child is a high school sailor/wants to prepare for high school sailing

  • June 17-21, June 24-28
