Level 1 Introduction to Sailing

level1 Never sailed before?  Interested in giving it a try, this is where you start…..

This introduction to sailing class is taught in the JSB 27′ S2 keelboat, a Sunfish, or other single handed dinghy, and focuses on basic boat rigging, straight line sailing with a partner, and general sailing and boating safety knowledge. The goal of this class is to get the sailor comfortable in a boat with a friend, with a focus on safety and fun. Instructors use games, team work and challenges to help the student feel comfortable and excited about the sport of sailing. By the end of this class, a student should be able to continue into either single handed or double handed dinghy sailing classes where they can work on further improving their sailing skills. Classes have 2 instructors and are limited to 10 students per session to keep the instructor to student ratio low. No previous experience is required. This is a 5 day class.
